First Inning

The game commenced with both teams displaying strong defensive plays. The Fish managed to keep the Motor City Kitties scoreless in their first turn at bat. Miami's starting pitcher demonstrated control, allowing no hits and maintaining a tight grip on his pitches.

Second Inning

The second inning proved pivotal as Detroit capitalized on Miami's fielding errors. The Tigs scored their only runs of the game during this inning, taking advantage of three errors committed by the Fish defense. Despite this setback, Miami's pitching staff held firm and prevented further scoring opportunities for Detroit throughout the remainder of the game.

Middle Innings

As innings progressed from third through sixth, both teams struggled offensively but showcased solid pitching performances. The Marlins' bullpen was particularly effective in these middle innings, allowing only one hit and keeping their opponents from extending their lead.

Final Innings

Innings seven through nine saw continued efforts by Miami to close the gap; however, they were unable to convert any of their seven hits into runs due to missed opportunities with runners left on base. Notably, Liam Hicks contributed defensively behind home plate but couldn't spark an offensive rally for his team.

Despite a commendable effort from pitchers like Adam Mazur who maintained an impressive WHIP of 0.5 over six innings pitched without conceding earned runs or walks—Miami fell short offensively against Detroit’s resilient defense.
