The game unfolded at loanDepot park in Miami, where the Mets' bats came alive to secure their victory. Throughout the nine innings, the Mets accumulated a total of 11 hits and managed to drive in six runs. Notably, their performance peaked during the second and fourth innings when they scored two runs each time, followed by an additional run in both the fifth and ninth innings. Despite committing one error during play, it did not deter them from achieving success on offense.

Key performances from several players contributed significantly to this outcome. Francisco Lindor stood out with an impressive batting average of .500 for this game; his slugging percentage soared to 2.0 thanks to his ability to convert at-bats into home runs efficiently every two attempts on average. Jeff McNeil also made notable contributions with a batting average of .333 and three RBIs, including hitting one home run that added crucial points for the team.

On defense and pitching fronts, despite some challenges faced by Edwin Díaz who ended up with an ERA of 9.0 after allowing multiple bases on balls which led him to have a WHIP (Walks plus Hits per Inning Pitched) ratio as high as 3.0; David Peterson emerged victorious as he secured a win contributing significantly towards keeping Marlins' hitters at bay with an ERA of 3.6 across five innings pitched.

The Marlins put up a valiant effort against their New York adversaries but fell short despite scoring four runs off nine hits throughout the game without committing any errors—a testament to their defensive resilience.
