Throughout the game, the Mets struggled to find their rhythm at bat. Despite having 30 at-bats and drawing six walks, they managed only four hits and left 20 runners on base. Their batting average was a mere .133 for this game, with an on-base percentage of .316 and slugging percentage standing equally low at .133. Notably, Lorenzo Cedrola showcased some resilience by hitting an average of .333 and securing an on-base percentage of .50.

On the pitching side, Kodai Senga started for the Mets but faced challenges early on. Senga's performance resulted in an earned run average (ERA) of 3.00 over three innings pitched with his whip recorded at 1.0 and striking out opponents at a rate of 15 per nine innings pitched – highlighting his potential despite team struggles.

The bullpen had its moments with Zachary Muckenhirn and James Yacabonis both maintaining an ERA of 0.00 during their time on mound; however, Elieser Hernandez encountered difficulties as evidenced by his ERA soaring to 9.00.

The Washington Nationals capitalized where it mattered most - during their turn at bat in key moments which led them to score three runs off eight hits throughout nine innings played without committing any errors defensively.
