The Mets' lineup was particularly formidable in the third inning, where they amassed seven runs off four hits. This explosive performance was highlighted by Mark Vientos and J.D. Martinez's exceptional play. Vientos demonstrated his power-hitting ability with a home run, contributing significantly to the team's OPS of .904 for the game. Martinez went above and beyond, achieving an impressive .750 batting average and an OPS of 2.25 by securing three hits in four at-bats and scoring one run.

On the mound for the Mets, Kodai Senga delivered a strong start with an ERA of 3.375 across more than five innings pitched, striking out batters at a rate of 15.192 per nine innings while maintaining a WHIP of just 0.5625. His performance set the tone for the game and kept the Braves' hitters largely in check.

The Braves managed to compile seven hits throughout the game but were hindered by two errors that contributed to their loss. Their efforts in the second inning brought them two runs, followed by another run in both sixth and ninth innings; however, it wasn't enough to challenge the Mets' lead effectively.

Defensively, Francisco Lindor maintained his reliability with perfect fielding statistics alongside his teammates Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil who also contributed flawless defensive plays ensuring no errors from their side which complemented their pitchers’ efforts on limiting Atlanta’s scoring opportunities.
