Second Inning

The second inning was pivotal for Tampa Bay as they broke through with three runs, taking advantage of two hits and some strategic base running. This early lead put pressure on the Amazins, who struggled offensively throughout this period.

Third Inning

In the third inning, Tampa Bay added another run to their tally, extending their lead to 4-0. Despite Brett Baty's efforts at third base for New York and Francisco Alvarez's single hit during his four at-bats, the Mets were unable to respond effectively.

Fourth and Fifth Innings

Both teams went scoreless in the fourth inning; however, by the fifth inning, Tampa Bay struck again with two more runs from just one hit. Griffin Canning's pitching for New York showed signs of strain as his ERA climbed to 12.462 over these innings.

Sixth Through Eighth Innings

The sixth through eighth innings saw no change in scoring from either side despite some attempts by Juan Soto and Brandon Nimmo who had an OBP of .6 and .4 respectively during previous games but couldn't find success here.

Ninth Inning

In what would be their final chance at bat during this matchup against Tampa Bay’s bullpen—known for its formidable presence—the Mets allowed three additional runs from three hits by their opponents before closing out without any points themselves.
