Mets Fall Short as Mariners' Seventh Inning Surge Steals the Show at Citi Field

In a closely contested matchup at Citi Field, the New York Mets faced off against the Seattle Mariners in a game that saw both teams battling fiercely. The Mets, now holding a 64-58 record, were edged out by the Mariners who improved to 68-55 with an 11-9 victory.

First Inning


The game kicked off with both teams scoring early. The Mariners managed to put up 1 run on 2 hits in their opening inning. Not to be outdone, the Mets responded with a run of their own thanks to Francisco Lindor's consistent performance at bat.


Second Inning


The second inning saw increased action from both sides. The M’s added another run while the Amazins countered effectively with Pete Alonso and Ronny Mauricio contributing significantly to drive in two runs for their team.


Fourth Inning


As the game progressed into the fourth inning, it was clear that neither team was backing down. The Mets took charge by adding three more runs through strategic plays and solid hitting from Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil.


Seventh Inning


However, it was during this pivotal seventh inning that Seattle turned up the heat. They unleashed an offensive barrage scoring five runs on five hits which shifted momentum dramatically in favor of Emerald City.


Eighth Inning
