The Nationals came out swinging with a total of 12 hits throughout the game but were unable to capitalize fully on their opportunities. The team's batting average was an impressive .333 and they managed to get on base at a .442 clip. Despite leaving 21 runners on base over nine innings, they showed resilience by scoring runs in three consecutive innings – two runs in the third inning followed by single-run efforts in both the fourth and fifth.

Washington's hitters displayed power as well, with five extra-base hits including four doubles and one home run contributing to their slugging percentage of .528. The Nationals also demonstrated speed on the bases with two stolen bases at a success rate of sixty-seven percent.

Defensively, Washington was flawless with no errors recorded during the game and turning two double plays. Their fielding percentage stood perfect at 1.0 for this encounter.

Pitching for Washington had its ups and downs; while starters posted an ERA of just over five (5.063), it was their bullpen that struggled significantly with an ERA soaring to 13.5 over just under three innings pitched (2.2 IP). This proved costly as four earned runs were given up by relievers which ultimately tipped the scales in favor of Oakland.

On Oakland's side, their offense matched up well against Washington’s pitching staff collecting eleven hits leading to seven runs scored including six runs batted in during one explosive sixth inning that changed the course of the game.
