From the outset, the Nationals' offense was on full display. Despite a quiet start in the first two innings, they broke through in the third inning by putting two runs on the board off three hits. They continued to apply pressure and added another run in the fifth inning. The seventh inning proved to be pivotal for Washington as they capitalized on both their hitting and Miami's defensive error to bring four more runs home.

The team's batting statistics were telling of their performance; they achieved seven hits and drew three walks while striking out only three times. Their ability to get on base was further highlighted by an impressive stolen base percentage of 80 percent, successfully stealing four bases throughout the game.

Washington's pitching staff complemented their hitters' efforts by keeping Miami's bats at bay. Starter Jake Irvin earned his second win of the season with an effective six-inning outing where he allowed just two earned runs off four hits while maintaining an ERA of 3.0 for this game. The bullpen took over from there without missing a beat, throwing three perfect innings to close out the game.

On defense, Washington played error-free baseball and demonstrated efficient playmaking with ten assists across nine innings – contributing to their flawless fielding percentage.

For Miami Marlins fans looking for silver linings, Trevor Rogers may not have had his best day on the mound but managed to strike out five batters despite taking his fourth loss of this campaign. The Marlins did manage to put up two runs during sixth-inning action but struggled overall against Washington’s pitchers who held them to just four hits all evening.

As for what lies ahead for Nationals fans: The team will travel next to Globe Life Field in Arlington where they are scheduled to face off against Texas Rangers at 8:05 PM Eastern Time on May 1st. Fans can catch this upcoming matchup broadcasted live on BSSW network.
