From the outset, the Nationals struggled to find their rhythm against the Diamondbacks' pitchers. The team managed only four hits throughout the game and failed to convert any scoring opportunities, leaving 11 runners on base. The batting lineup faced challenges as they posted an average of .133 and an on-base percentage (OBP) of .188. Despite reaching base six times via hits and walks, no National player crossed home plate.

On defense, the Nationals encountered difficulties as well. Their pitching staff surrendered 22 hits and 17 runs over eight innings. The starting pitcher for Washington had an especially tough outing, ending with an earned run average (ERA) of 30.00 after allowing ten earned runs in just three innings pitched. This performance contributed significantly to the team's overall ERA of 18.00 for this game.

Fielding was another area where Washington could not hold steady; they committed one error which did not aid their cause in preventing runs from scoring against them.

Among individual performances for the Nationals, Alex Call stood out by hitting .500 and achieving an on-base plus slugging (OPS) percentage of 1.167 during his appearances at bat. Nasim Nuñez also made his presence felt by hitting perfectly in his attempts resulting in a slugging percentage (SLG) of 1.000 and OPS of 2.000.
