First Inning

The Nats set the tone early in the first inning by scoring 4 runs on 3 hits. Brady House was instrumental in this surge, contributing significantly to the team's early lead. The Reds struggled to respond initially, managing only one hit without any runs.

Third Inning

Washington continued their dominance in the third inning by adding another 3 runs. Jacob Young's consistent performance at bat was crucial during this period as he maintained an impressive .600 average from his previous game. Meanwhile, Cincinnati remained scoreless until later innings.

Fourth Inning

In a dramatic fourth inning, both teams showcased their batting prowess. The Nats added another run to their tally thanks to Daylen Lile's efforts who had previously recorded an OPS of 1.6 and drove in three RBIs against Cincinnati's pitching staff.

Sixth Inning

The sixth inning saw Washington extend their lead further with two more runs while maintaining solid defense throughout. Despite allowing some hits earlier on, Luis García and Andrew Chafin kept Cincinnati’s offense largely contained during critical moments of play.

Ninth Inning

Cincinnati attempted a late comeback effort by scoring two additional runs but ultimately fell short against Washington’s resilient bullpen led by Kyle Finnegan whose ERA stood at an elevated level yet managed key outs when needed most for his team’s success that night.
