The game began with both teams struggling to put runs on the board. Through seven innings, neither team managed to score. The Orioles had scattered hits but couldn't capitalize until the eighth inning when they exploded for five runs. This pivotal moment turned out to be decisive in their victory.

Baltimore's offense was led by three home runs that came during their eighth-inning surge. The team accumulated eight hits overall and drew five walks, showcasing a balanced offensive approach. Despite leaving fourteen runners on base throughout the game, they made their hits count when it mattered most.

On the pitching side, Baltimore's starter delivered four strong innings without allowing a run and striking out three batters while giving up only two hits and two walks. The bullpen took over from there and allowed three earned runs across five innings but managed to hold off further damage from Chicago's lineup.

Chicago’s fifth inning saw them scoring all three of their runs thanks to timely hitting that included two singles and one triple. However, this effort fell short as they couldn’t muster any more offense for the remainder of the game.

Dillon Tate earned his second win of the season for Baltimore while Michael Kopech took his fourth loss for Chicago after surrendering those crucial eighth-inning runs by Baltimore’s hitters.

Cionel Pérez secured his first save by closing out Chicago in a relatively uneventful ninth inning where he faced just three batters without allowing any baserunners or hits.

Looking ahead, fans can catch Baltimore’s next game against Chicago at Guaranteed Rate Field on May 26th at 1:10 PM Central Time (2:10 PM Eastern Time). The match will be broadcasted live on MASN network.
