Orioles' Sixth-Inning Spark Ignites Victory Over White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field

The Baltimore Orioles improved their record to 33-18 with a 4-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox, who now stand at 15-39. The game, held at Guaranteed Rate Field, saw the Orioles capitalize on a pivotal sixth inning to secure their win.

The early innings were marked by strong pitching from both teams. The Orioles managed only one hit through the first five innings, while the White Sox were held hitless during this span. Baltimore's starter Kyle Bradish was particularly effective, striking out 11 batters over seven innings without allowing a run.

The breakthrough for Baltimore came in the sixth inning when they recorded two hits and scored two runs. This offensive burst was crucial in breaking the deadlock and setting the tone for the remainder of the game. The seventh inning saw another hit from Baltimore but no additional runs.

In response, Chicago struggled to find their rhythm against Bradish and later against relievers Danny Coulombe and Yennier Cano. The White Sox managed just one hit throughout nine innings—a solo home run in the eighth that accounted for their lone run of the game.

Baltimore added insurance runs in both the eighth and ninth innings. In total, they accumulated six hits with two doubles and two home runs contributing significantly to their scoring efforts. Despite committing one error in fielding, which did not result in any unearned runs for Chicago, Baltimore's defense remained solid overall.

On Chicago's side, Garrett Crochet took his fifth loss of the season despite a commendable effort on his part as he allowed only three hits over six innings but was ultimately undone by that critical sixth inning surge from Baltimore.

Craig Kimbrel closed out effectively for Baltimore earning his twelfth save of this season after pitching an uneventful ninth inning where he faced three batters without allowing any further damage or base runners.
