Orioles Edge Padres in a Nail-Biter at Oriole Park

The Baltimore Orioles improved their season record to 62-43 with an 8-6 victory over the San Diego Padres, who fell to 57-51. The game, held at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, was a showcase of resilience and timely hitting by the Orioles, who capitalized on their opportunities to secure the win.

The Orioles' offense was led by standout performances from several players. Ryan Mountcastle delivered crucially with a batting average of .400 for the game, driving in four runs and proving instrumental in building the team's lead. James McCann also made significant contributions, hitting .500 and scoring once after facing two pitches. His on-base percentage stood impressively at .75 for the game. Another notable performance came from Ryan O'Hearn, who not only hit an impressive .667 but also drove in a run, showcasing his ability to deliver when it mattered most.


On the pitching side, Cionel Pérez earned a win thanks to his flawless inning that kept the Padres' hitters at bay. Seranthony Domínguez also contributed with an ERA of 0.0 across his appearance, striking out batters at a rate of 9 per nine innings pitched.

The Padres fought hard throughout the contest but were unable to overcome their early deficit despite out-hitting the Orioles with ten hits compared to nine by Baltimore. Their effort was highlighted in the fifth inning when they scored three runs off four hits but ultimately fell short as they couldn't match Baltimore's offensive output.


Defensively, Gunnar Henderson had a challenging day for Baltimore with two errors contributing to some tense moments; however, his efforts did not deter from overall team success.
