The game unfolded with both teams demonstrating their prowess on the field. The Mariners quickly set the pace, scoring consistently across several innings, amassing a total of 13 hits throughout the game. Their scoring began early, with runs in each of the first three innings, including two crucial runs in the third inning that set them ahead significantly. Despite a quiet fourth inning, they resumed their offensive push in later innings, notably adding two more runs in both the fifth and seventh innings.

The Padres struggled to match this offensive output, managing only four hits against their opponents. However, notable performances came from Kyle Higashioka and Jake Cronenworth. Higashioka contributed significantly with an impressive batting average of .500 for this game and scored one run for his team after making contact twice at bat. Cronenworth showcased his power by hitting a home run that brought hope to Padres fans during a late-game rally attempt.

On pitching duties for San Diego was Adam Mazur who started on the mound but encountered challenges against Seattle's lineup leading to an earned run average (ERA) of 9.643 over his appearance period. His efforts were supported by Stephen Kolek from bullpen who managed an ERA of 0 but stood out with an impressive strikeout rate (K9) of 20.25 despite not securing any wins or losses for his team.

Despite these individual efforts from San Diego's roster, it was not enough to overcome Seattle's consistent performance across both offense and defense which ultimately led to their victory.
