The game started promisingly for the Padres as they scored an early run in the first inning, showcasing their intent to dominate early on. However, as the innings progressed, Atlanta's offense found its rhythm, particularly in the sixth inning where they scored three runs that shifted momentum in their favor. The Padres attempted a comeback in the seventh inning by adding two runs but ultimately fell short as Atlanta's pitching staff tightened up and secured their lead.

Key performances from San Diego included Luis Campusano who had an impressive day at bat with an average of 1.000 and scoring once off his single hit which came from just one at-bat. Xander Bogaerts also contributed significantly with a batting average of .500 and driving in one RBI for his team. On defense, Randy Vásquez showcased his skills on the mound with an ERA of 3.6 across five innings pitched but unfortunately took home a loss.
