First Inning

In the opening inning, both teams started cautiously. The Padres managed to get one hit but failed to capitalize on it as they left one runner stranded on base. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays took an early lead by scoring their first run thanks to a timely hit that brought in a runner from third base.

Fifth Inning

The fifth inning proved pivotal for the Blue Birds as they extended their lead significantly. With two hits in this inning alone, they managed to bring home two more runs. This offensive burst put them ahead comfortably and added pressure on Slam Diego's pitching staff.

Pitching Performance

Throughout the game, San Diego's pitchers struggled against Toronto's lineup. Dylan Cease started strong but eventually allowed three earned runs over seven innings pitched. His performance included seven strikeouts but also saw him give up two home runs which were crucial in determining the game's outcome.

On another note for Friars' bullpen efforts: Wandy Peralta came into relief duty later during playtime without conceding any additional scores; however - despite his solid showing - it wasn't enough due largely because earlier damage had already been done by then!

Offensive Struggles

Offensively speaking: Padres hitters found themselves stymied throughout much of this contest too! They recorded only five total hits across nine innings while failing altogether when opportunities arose such as runners-in-scoring-position situations where none converted successfully into actual points scored whatsoever!
