From the outset, the Phillies' bats were hot. The team accumulated a total of 12 hits throughout the game. The second inning set the tone for Philadelphia's offense as they brought in two runs to start their tally. Consistency was key for the Phillies as they scored in four different innings, including another two-run burst in both the fourth and sixth innings.

Philadelphia's hitters displayed remarkable discipline and power at PETCO Park. They achieved an impressive batting average of .333 and an on-base percentage of .415. Their slugging percentage stood out at .667, thanks to six extra-base hits which included three home runs contributing significantly to their run batted in (RBI) count of eight.

On defense, despite committing one error, the Phillies maintained composure with a fielding percentage of .971 through nine innings. The team turned two double plays which helped limit scoring opportunities for San Diego.

The bullpen played a pivotal role by not allowing any runs over 2.2 innings pitched and holding onto a perfect earned run average (ERA) for this game while striking out two batters from San Diego's lineup.

San Diego's effort was notable as well; they put up six runs on nine hits but couldn't quite catch up to Philadelphia's lead despite rallying back with three runs each during both third and seventh innings.

Taijuan Walker secured his first win of the season after delivering solid pitching over his appearance on the mound for Philadelphia while José Alvarado earned his fifth save this year by closing out the ninth inning effectively.
