First Inning

The game began with both teams unable to score in the first inning. The Phils struggled offensively from the start, failing to register any hits. Meanwhile, their pitching staff managed to keep the Amazins off the scoreboard as well.

Third Inning

The third inning proved pivotal for New York as they broke through with a significant offensive display. The Mets scored three runs on five hits against Philadelphia's starter Taijuan Walker, who had an ERA of 7.2 in his previous outing. This surge put pressure on Philadelphia's lineup, which continued its struggle at bat.

Fifth Inning

In an attempt to regain control, Phillies' bullpen took over but allowed another run in this inning due to consistent hitting by New York's lineup. Despite efforts from relievers like Tanner Banks and Daniel Robert—who had shown promise previously—the Phils couldn't contain their opponents effectively.

Seventh Inning

New York extended their lead further during this period by adding two more runs on two hits against Philadelphia’s relief pitchers. The Fightin’ Phils were unable to respond offensively; they only managed one hit throughout these innings despite multiple attempts from key players such as Alec Bohm and Bryce Harper.

Eighth and Ninth Innings

As time ran out for Philadelphia’s comeback hopes late into eighth and ninth innings respectively; there was little change seen within either team dynamics or scoreboard figures alike: no additional points scored nor errors committed across board overall – leaving fans wondering what went wrong for Phillies tonight?

Despite some solid defensive plays made earlier (including zero fielding errors), it wasn’t enough offsetting lackluster batting performance that saw them finish without scoring single point throughout entire match duration itself - something rarely witnessed amongst seasoned supporters following closely along sidelines all season long thus far!
