Rangers' Late Rally Falls Short Against Twins at Target Field

The Texas Rangers, now standing at 24-29, faced off against the Minnesota Twins, who improved their record to 28-23, in a closely contested game that ended with a final score of 5-3. The game took place at Target Field in Minneapolis.

The Rangers started slowly but managed to put up a fight as the innings progressed. In the second inning, they recorded their first hit but failed to score. It wasn't until the fourth inning that they managed to get on the scoreboard with one run from two hits. The fifth and sixth innings saw similar efforts with one run each from one hit per inning.


Corey Seager was instrumental for Texas, contributing significantly during these middle innings. Despite his efforts and those of his teammates, including two doubles and a home run among their five total hits, it wasn’t enough to overcome Minnesota's pitching.

Texas' starting pitcher delivered six solid innings with an earned run average (ERA) of 1.5 and allowed only three hits while striking out four batters. However, it was the bullpen that struggled; they gave up four runs in just two innings pitched.


On the other side of the diamond, Minnesota opened strong by scoring one run in their first inning off two hits. They remained quiet until late in the game when they exploded for three runs in the eighth inning from two hits and capitalized on walks issued by Texas pitchers.

Minnesota’s Cole Sands secured his second win of the season while Jhoan Duran earned his sixth save after closing out Texas’ attempts at a comeback in the ninth inning without allowing any further damage.
