The game started off on a high note for the Orioles, who secured four runs off four hits in the first inning alone. Despite their efforts to counter, the Rangers managed only two hits throughout the game and scored their lone run in the second inning. The Orioles continued their offensive display with two more runs in the fifth and three runs in the seventh inning, totaling nine runs from eleven hits without committing any errors.


From an individual performance standpoint, David Lowe stood out for the Rangers with his .250 batting average including a home run that accounted for Texas's only run of the game.
