Rangers Struggle at Bat

The game statistics reveal a challenging day for the Rangers' lineup, with an overall batting average of .103 and an on-base percentage (OBP) of .161. Kyle Higashioka emerged as one of the few bright spots for Texas, securing two hits in three at-bats and achieving an OBP of .667. Jose Adolis GarcĂa also contributed with a hit in his three attempts, finishing with an OBP of .333. However, these efforts were not enough to ignite a rally for the team.

Nathan Eovaldi took on pitching duties as the starter for Texas but faced difficulties against Chicago's hitters. Eovaldi ended his appearance with an earned run average (ERA) of 5.786 over 4.2 innings pitched and managed seven strikeouts but allowed four hits that led to three runs.

Cubs Capitalize on Opportunities

On the other side, Chicago capitalized on their opportunities by scoring seven runs off ten hits throughout nine innings. A significant surge came in the sixth inning when they scored four runs that solidified their lead and eventual victory.

The Cubs showcased effective pitching that kept Texas batters at bay; their bullpen maintained control by limiting base runners and executing crucial strikeouts when needed.
