From the onset, the Rays showed their offensive capabilities by accumulating a total of 14 hits throughout the game. Despite early innings that saw no runs crossing the plate for Tampa Bay, they remained persistent. The sixth inning marked a change in momentum when they scored their first run followed by two more in the eighth inning to secure their lead.

Tampa Bay's hitting statistics were impressive; they had an on-base percentage (OBP) of .41 and slugging percentage (SLG) of .486 which contributed to an on-base plus slugging (OPS) of .896. Their batting average was notable at .378 for this game. The team's performance with runners in scoring position was less optimal though, as they only managed one hit from ten at-bats in those situations.

Fielding errors could have been costly for Tampa Bay as they committed two during play but managed to maintain their lead despite these setbacks. On defense, however, there were bright spots as well; seven assists and twenty-four putouts are indicative of several well-executed plays.

The bullpen played its part effectively too; over 2.2 innings pitched by relievers resulted in zero earned runs and three strikeouts – showcasing depth beyond starting pitching which lasted for 5.1 innings allowing only two hits and maintaining an ERA of zero.
