The Rays' performance at Tropicana Field started off defensively strong but ultimately fell short in the latter innings. The home team managed to accumulate six hits throughout the game but struggled to convert these opportunities into runs. Despite this challenge, one highlight for the Rays was a home run that contributed to their total tally of three runs. The batting average for the team stood at .182, and they left twelve runners on base which could have potentially changed the course of the game.

Defensively, Tampa Bay maintained a perfect fielding percentage and executed one double play during this encounter. Their efforts in fielding were commendable; however, it was not enough to counteract their offensive shortcomings.
