The game was characterized by strong pitching from both sides, but it was the Orioles who capitalized on their opportunities. The Baltimore team managed to secure nine hits leading to five runs without committing any errors. Their scoring was particularly aggressive in the later innings, with three runs coming in during the ninth inning alone.

The Tampa Bay Rays struggled offensively, reflected in their hitting statistics with an average of .069 and an on-base percentage of .069. Pitching for Tampa Bay showed some resilience despite the outcome. Overall, Tampa Bay's pitchers faced forty-two batters throughout nine innings, striking out eleven but also giving up five earned runs.

On defense, Tampa Bay maintained composure with no errors recorded and two assists made during play. However, they were unable to contain Baltimore's offense effectively enough to change the course of the game.
