Game Highlights

The game unfolded under clear skies at George M. Steinbrenner Field, where a crowd of 10,046 spectators gathered to witness the contest. The Rays managed to secure six hits throughout the game but struggled to convert these opportunities into runs, scoring only once in the fourth inning. This lone run came amidst an attempt to rally back against a dominant Angels pitching staff that held the Rays' batting lineup in check.

Junior Caminero and Jonathan Aranda were among the few bright spots for Tampa Bay. Caminero showcased his batting skills by hitting .750 for the day, making significant contact every time he was at bat but without managing to score or drive in runs due to limited opportunities. On the other hand, Aranda contributed directly to Tampa Bay's scoreboard by driving in their only run of the game, highlighting his ability to perform under pressure despite overall team struggles.

Pitching and Defense

On the mound, Zack Littell started for Tampa Bay but encountered difficulties early on, ending his day with an ERA of 15.75 after allowing seven earned runs over four innings pitched—a performance that set back Tampa Bay early in the game. The bullpen saw some relief through Garrett Cleavinger who maintained an ERA of 0.00 during his appearance; however, this effort was not enough to counteract earlier setbacks.

Defensively, Tampa Bay showed resilience with players like Jake Mangum and José Caballero maintaining perfect fielding percentages and preventing further damage from aggressive Angels baserunning.
