In their last outing on April 2nd against the Oakland Athletics, BOS demonstrated a masterclass in both pitching and hitting. With a 9-0 victory that featured no errors and nine hits, it's clear that they're firing on all cylinders. The bullpen was particularly impressive with an ERA of 0.0 over three innings pitched and a WHIP standing at just 0.3333 – numbers that speak volumes about their current form.

The offense wasn't far behind either; they managed to hit .257 overall with an OBP of .364 and SLG of .314. Their ability to capitalize on runs in scoring position was notable as well – achieving five hits out of thirteen ABs with runners in scoring position (RISP). This level of performance is something the Cubs will need to watch out for.

On April 31st against the Seattle Mariners, BOS showcased resilience by pulling through despite committing two errors during the game. They secured a win after ten innings which shows their capability to handle pressure situations – an essential quality heading into games like these.

However, it's not just about past glories; looking ahead requires acknowledging potential challenges too. The Cubs come into this game as worthy adversaries who cannot be underestimated despite any statistical advantages held by BOS.
