The Red Sox set the tone early in the game, scoring two runs in the first inning off two hits. They continued this momentum into the third inning, adding another two runs from two hits. A significant moment came in the fourth inning when they managed to score one run despite an error by the Blue Jays, demonstrating their ability to capitalize on their opponents' mistakes. The seventh inning saw another surge from Boston as they scored two more runs off three hits, solidifying their lead.

Boston's batting lineup was formidable throughout, achieving an impressive .324 batting average and slugging percentage of .706. They hit four home runs during this match which contributed significantly to their victory. Despite being caught stealing twice and leaving six runners on base, they managed efficient hitting with runners in scoring position (RISP), securing two hits out of six at-bats in these crucial scenarios.

On defense and pitching fronts, Boston maintained strong performances as well. Their fielders did not commit any errors throughout nine innings while assisting four times and completing one double play—achieving a perfect fielding percentage of 100 percent. The pitching staff held up its end by limiting Toronto's scoring opportunities effectively; starters posted an earned run average (ERA) of 3.857 over seven innings pitched while relievers kept Toronto scoreless across two innings with an ERA of zero.

The Toronto Blue Jays made efforts to counteract Boston's offense but only managed three runs from ten hits due to strategic pitching from Boston’s side that left ten Toronto players stranded on base throughout nine innings.
