The game saw an impressive display of hitting from both sides. The Red Sox's batting lineup was particularly effective, boasting a .389 average and achieving a remarkable on-base plus slugging (OPS) of 1.066. Key contributions came from several players; Rafael Devers stood out with an impressive .667 batting average and an OPS of 1.467 for the game. Tyler O'Neill and Masataka Yoshida also made significant impacts, with O'Neill driving in one run on a .333 batting average and Yoshida adding three RBIs to his name.

On the pitching side, Brayan Bello started for the Red Sox and managed to hold off the Yankees' hitters through five innings pitched with an earned run average (ERA) of 5.4 and striking out four batters along his tenure on the mound.

The bullpen had mixed results but ultimately did enough to preserve the lead for Boston. Bailey Horn secured a win without allowing any runs or hits during his time pitching, showcasing effective relief work that contributed significantly to Boston's victory.

Despite facing stiff competition from New York's lineup that managed seven runs off fourteen hits including three home runs which highlighted their slugging capability (.641), Boston's pitchers navigated through high-pressure situations effectively enough to clinch this crucial victory against their long-standing rivals.
