The Reds' pitching staff delivered an impeccable performance, highlighted by starter Andrew Abbott's zero earned run average (ERA) and striking out over ten batters per nine innings pitched. Abbott's control and precision set the tone for the game, allowing only three hits over seven innings. Fernando Cruz from the bullpen maintained this excellence with a nine strikeouts per nine innings rate and a perfect zero ERA.

On offense, Elly De La Cruz showcased his potential as a rising star for the Reds by hitting .667 including slugging at an impressive rate of 1.000. His performance was complemented by Rece Hinds who also hit .667 but added power with one home run and one RBI, achieving an on-base plus slugging (OPS) of 2.667.

Santiago Espinal made every at-bat count by hitting 1.000 in his appearances at the plate which contributed significantly to maintaining pressure on the Rockies' pitchers throughout the game.
