First Inning

Both teams started cautiously in the first inning. The Reds managed one hit but failed to score any runs. Meanwhile, the Brewers also recorded a single hit without adding any runs to their tally.

Third Inning

The third inning was pivotal for the Big Red Machine as they exploded with six runs off four hits and capitalized on two errors by the Brew Crew. This offensive outburst set the tone for Cincinnati's dominance throughout the game.

Sixth Inning

In response, Milwaukee attempted a comeback in the sixth inning by scoring two runs from two hits. However, this effort was not enough to close in on Cincinnati's lead.

Final Innings

Despite another attempt by Milwaukee in later innings where they added two more runs, it was ultimately insufficient against Cincinnati's earlier surge. The Reds maintained control of their lead and added one more run in the sixth inning before closing out strong defensively.
