Rockies to Test Mariners at Coors Field: A Mile-High Matchup

As the Colorado Rockies prepare to host the Seattle Mariners at Denver's Coors Field, fans are eager to see if their team can turn around a recent slump. The Rockies have had a challenging stretch in their last few games, with some concerning trends emerging from the data.

In their previous outing against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, the Rockies were shut out, managing only three hits and committing two errors in a game that saw them lose 5-0. Their hitting was particularly lackluster, with an average of just .097 and an on-base percentage (OBP) of .125 for that game. The bullpen's earned run average (ERA) stood at 6.75 with a walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP) of 2.25 – numbers they'll be looking to improve upon.

The game before that wasn't much better for Colorado as they faced off against Arizona Diamondbacks and lost 5-1. Despite collecting eight hits, they committed three errors and left sixteen runners on base (LOB), highlighting issues both in fielding and capitalizing on scoring opportunities.

However, there is hope from another recent matchup where the Rockies showed what they're capable of when things click. Against those same Diamondbacks but in an earlier game, Colorado came out swinging with ten hits leading to nine runs scored while keeping errors off the board entirely – a performance that will surely boost confidence going into their next match.

Coors Field could play into this upcoming contest significantly; known for being hitter-friendly due to Denver's altitude affecting ball trajectory - something both teams' pitchers will have to account for.

The scheduled game between the Rockies and Mariners is set for April 21st at Coors Field in Denver, CO. Fans can catch all the action live starting from 6:10 PM Mountain Time on local broadcasts or streaming services providing MLB coverage.
