Rockies' Late Rally Falls Short Against Mets at Citi Field

The Colorado Rockies faced off against the New York Mets at Citi Field, resulting in a 4-2 outcome. The Rockies now stand at 9-48, while the Mets improved to 35-22. Despite a valiant effort by the Rox, they couldn't overcome the Amazins' early lead.

First Inning


The game began with both teams testing each other's defenses. The Mets took an early advantage in the first inning with a run scored on two hits. The Rockies struggled to find their rhythm initially, failing to register any hits or runs in their opening inning.


Second Inning


In the second inning, both teams tightened their defenses. The Rox managed to get one hit but were unable to convert it into a run due to strong pitching from the Amazins'. Meanwhile, Colorado's defense held firm and prevented any additional runs from New York.

Third Inning


The third inning saw another push from New York as they added another run with two more hits. Ryan McMahon of Colorado made significant contributions defensively but couldn't prevent the scoreline from widening slightly further.


Fourth Inning


As we moved into the fourth inning, both teams showcased solid defensive plays. However, it was again New York that managed to edge ahead by scoring one more run on just one hit during this period.

Fifth and Sixth Innings


During these innings, neither team could break through until late in sixth when Colorado finally got on board thanks largely due Sam Hilliard's impressive performance - hitting his way onto base before being driven home for their first point of night after accumulating two crucial hits within this timeframe alone!


Seventh Inning


Building upon momentum gained earlier; Brenton Doyle stepped up big time delivering yet another key hit which allowed him reach base safely followed closely behind by Thairo Estrada who capitalized upon opportunity presented thereby bringing second tally across plate thus narrowing gap between sides considerably heading towards final stages match-up itself...


Eighth and Ninth Innings
