In a display of dominant pitching and timely hitting, the Kansas City Royals shut out the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Royals' pitchers combined for a stellar performance, allowing only four hits and maintaining an ERA of 0.0 throughout nine innings. Starter Seth Lugo earned his third win of the season by holding the White Sox to just four hits over seven innings while striking out four batters.

The offense for the Royals wasn't overwhelming but proved to be efficient enough to secure victory. With an overall batting average of .156, they managed five hits against their opponents. A critical moment came in the fourth inning when they broke through with their first run followed by another run in the fifth inning which solidified their lead.

A standout performance came from one player who hit a home run contributing significantly to his team's total runs batted in (RBI). Despite having only seven at-bats with runners in scoring position (RISP), this pivotal play provided enough cushion for their pitching staff.

Defensively, Kansas City was flawless committing no errors and turning one double play which contributed to their perfect fielding percentage (FPCT) of 1.0 on the night.

The bullpen also played its part effectively; Chris Stratton held onto his hold opportunity while James McArthur secured his third save despite having one blown save previously this season.

As for attendance, there were 10,569 fans present to witness this matchup under partly cloudy skies with temperatures around 63 degrees Fahrenheit during game time which lasted two hours and seventeen minutes.
