The game began with promise for the Royals as they managed to put up one run in each of the first two innings. Vincent Pasquantino and Michael Massey were bright spots in an otherwise dim offensive performance for Kansas City. Pasquantino showcased his power by hitting a home run and securing an impressive batting average of .500 for the game, alongside an on-base percentage (OBP) of .5 and a slugging percentage (SLG) of 1.25 which contributed to his overall on-base plus slugging (OPS) standing at 1.75. Meanwhile, Massey also made significant contributions with his bat by hitting another home run for the team, boasting an extraordinary batting average of .667 and achieving an OPS of 2.334.

Despite these efforts, the rest of the Royals struggled against Cleveland's pitching lineup. The team collectively hit only six times throughout nine innings while managing just two runs against seven from their opponents.

On the mound for Kansas City was starter Cole Ragans who faced challenges throughout his appearance, ending with an earned run average (ERA) of 9.643 over nearly five innings pitched which contributed significantly to his season record moving to five losses against no wins.

The bullpen had mixed results; Carlos Hernández delivered a flawless performance by not allowing any runs and maintaining a zero ERA during his time on field which contrasted sharply with Angel Zerpa’s ERA climbing to 6.75 despite striking out over thirteen batters per nine innings pitched.

Defensively, both teams played error-free baseball but it was Cleveland's offense that proved too much for Kansas City's pitchers overall.

Looking ahead, fans can catch the next game between these two teams scheduled at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City on June 30th at 2:10 PM EDT where they will look forward to seeing if their team can bounce back from this defeat. The match will be broadcasted live on BSGL network ensuring fans won't miss any action from what promises to be another exciting encounter between these division rivals.
