Royals' Late Rally Falls Short in Nail-Biter Against Red Sox

Pitching for Kansas City saw mixed results; Jacob Lugo struggled on the mound posting an ERA of 6.75 over his appearance while allowing opponents a high on-base percentage (.407). Conversely, William Smith and Kristofer Bubic both maintained perfect ERAs during their stints from the bullpen.


The Boston Red Sox capitalized mainly during innings two and six where they scored five out of their six total runs demonstrating effective batting when it mattered most despite committing errors later in innings eight and nine which did not cost them significantly.
