In the first inning, both teams started cautiously. The Boys in Blue managed to get two hits but were unable to convert them into runs. Meanwhile, the Redbirds also recorded two hits without scoring any runs. The opening inning set a tone of competitive pitching that would persist throughout the game.


Fourth Inning


The fourth inning saw some action as both teams managed to get on the scoreboard. For K.C., it was Vinnie Pasquantino who played a crucial role by getting on base and eventually scoring thanks to timely hitting from his teammates. Seventh Inning


As we moved into the seventh inning, Kansas City's offense found another opportunity when they added another run to their tally through disciplined batting and taking advantage of gaps in St. Louis's defense. This proved pivotal as it gave them a slight edge over their opponents heading into later innings.


Ninth Inning


In what turned out to be an intense ninth inning for fans at Kauffman Stadium, neither team could add more runs despite several attempts from both sides' batters trying hard against resilient pitchers who held firm under pressure until closing time arrived with no further changes in scoreline - sealing victory for Kansas City Royals over visiting rivals: St.Louis Cardinals (final score: 2-1).
