Second Inning

In the second inning, both teams managed to get hits but struggled to bring runners home. The White Sox broke through first with a run scored after two hits in this inning. Meanwhile, Drew Waters contributed for K.C., maintaining his impressive .500 average from previous games but was unable to convert it into runs.

Third Inning

The third inning saw a brief surge from the Boys in Blue as they scored two runs off two hits. Bobby Witt Jr., known for his consistent performance and .500 average from prior games, played a crucial role during this period by reaching base and setting up scoring opportunities that were capitalized upon by Maikel Garcia's hitting prowess.

Fourth to Seventh Innings

As the middle innings unfolded from fourth through seventh innings, both teams' defenses tightened significantly. The Royals managed only three more hits during these frames while keeping their opponents scoreless thanks to solid pitching led by Seth Lugo's effective start with an ERA of 3.6 and WHIP of 1.4.

Eighth Inning

The eighth inning proved pivotal as it witnessed an offensive explosion from the South Siders who racked up five runs on just two hits due largely to errors committed by K.C.'s defense which had been relatively steady until then; these miscues allowed Chicago not only back into contention but also ahead decisively.

Ninth Inning

In what would be their final chance at bat during ninth inning playtime - trailing now significantly behind - Kansas City failed once again despite valiant attempts including those made earlier throughout matchups such as Jonathan Bowlan’s relief pitching efforts albeit marred somewhat given high ERA figures recorded previously (20+). Ultimately though neither side added further points leaving scoreboard reflecting ultimate outcome: White Sox victorious over visiting squad via decisive margin ending contest officially marked down numerically speaking thusly: "7-2".
