First Inning

The game kicked off with an impressive start for K.C., as they managed to score one run in the first inning thanks to Vinnie Pasquantino's solid performance at bat. His contribution set the tone for what would be a competitive matchup. Meanwhile, the A’s struggled to find their rhythm early on, failing to score any runs in response.

Fifth Inning

The fifth inning proved pivotal for the Boys in Blue as they added two more runs to their tally. With three hits during this period, including contributions from Bobby Witt Jr., who has been consistent throughout recent games, K.C.'s offense was firing on all cylinders. On defense, Royals' pitching staff held strong against Oakland's attempts to close the gap.

Seventh and Eighth Innings

As tension built up towards the latter part of this encounter, both teams displayed resilience. The Green and Gold managed one run each in both innings seven and eight but were unable to overcome K.C.'s lead due largely due to effective pitching by Michael Wacha who maintained an ERA of 0 during his time on mound earlier in game.

Ninth Inning

In what could have been a comeback opportunity for Oakland during ninth inning; however it was thwarted by Royals’ bullpen which sealed victory without conceding further ground despite pressure from home side hitters like Esteury Ruiz whose efforts went unrewarded ultimately leading them short-handed when final whistle blew signaling end match-up between these two sides once again highlighting importance teamwork across board especially given how close contest remained until very end!
