The Tigers showcased their offensive capabilities early on, although it took until the fifth inning for them to break through and score their first run. Their persistence paid off in a big way during the tenth inning when they exploded for four runs, decisively securing their victory. Throughout this intense matchup, Detroit's hitters were relentless, achieving a batting average of .333 and an on-base percentage of .37 for the game. Notably effective were their efforts with runners in scoring position (RISP), where they managed six hits out of twenty at-bats.

On the defensive side, Detroit's fielding was nearly flawless except for one error. Their pitchers combined for a commendable performance as well, particularly notable was their bullpen which held strong under pressure to maintain a low earned run average (ERA) of 1.5 over six innings pitched.
