The game started strong for the Detroit Tigers, scoring two runs in the first inning and adding another two in the third. The Cleveland Guardians responded with two runs in the third inning and one more in the fourth, keeping up with Detroit's pace. However, it was a crucial eighth inning that made all the difference for Detroit when they scored an additional run to secure their victory.

Andy Ibáñez of the Tigers played a pivotal role in their win, hitting a home run and achieving an impressive batting average of 1.000 for this game. On defense, Javier Báez demonstrated flawless fielding with a perfect fielding percentage and no errors throughout the game. This defensive solidity provided much-needed support for Detroit’s pitchers who managed to keep Cleveland’s hitters at bay despite some challenging moments.

The pitching staff had mixed results; Reese Olson started on mound for Detroit with an earned run average (ERA) of 4.5 over six innings pitched which laid down solid groundwork despite allowing three earned runs. Tyler Holton came out from bullpen delivering zero earned runs which helped maintain pressure on Cleveland until end.
