Tigers Stumble as Royals Secure 7-1 Victory in Detroit

The game began unfavorably for the Tigers as the Royals opened with a strong first inning, securing three runs off two hits. Despite this early setback, Detroit's defense held firm through the second and third innings, preventing any further runs. However, their offense struggled to find momentum against Kansas City's pitchers.

Detroit's lone run came in the fourth inning when they managed to put together two hits. This brief spark was not enough to ignite a comeback as their bats remained quiet for the remainder of the game. In contrast, Kansas City continued to build on their lead with consistent scoring in the later innings.

From an individual performance standpoint, Colten Keith and Wenceel Pérez both showcased promising efforts for Detroit by hitting .333 each and maintaining an on-base percentage of .500. Giovanny Urshela also contributed with a batting average of .333 but these efforts were overshadowed by Kansas City’s offensive display.

On the pitching side for Detroit, Keider Montero started on the mound and posted an earned run average (ERA) of 5.143 over seven innings pitched but ultimately took the loss. The bullpen struggled as well with Brenan Hanifee allowing three runs during his stint which inflated his ERA to 27.0.
