The game unfolded with both teams showcasing their defensive skills. The Twins managed to keep errors off their record for this game, maintaining a flawless fielding percentage of 1.0 across nine innings. However, their efforts at bat did not yield the desired results as they left nine runners on base and had an on-base percentage (OBP) of .278.

The pitching staff of the Twins put forth a commendable effort with an overall earned run average (ERA) of 3.375 for this game and striking out nine batters over eight innings pitched. Their starters showed promise by holding an ERA of 2.571 through seven innings but ultimately took the loss.

On offense, despite having eight hits including one double and reaching base ten times, they struggled with runners in scoring position (RISP), managing only one hit from eight attempts in such situations.

Conversely, The Pirates capitalized on their scoring opportunities with three runs off four hits including two home runs that proved pivotal to securing their win. Mitch Keller emerged victorious on the mound for The Pirates with his eighth win of the season thanks to his effective pitching that contributed significantly to his team's success.
