Did the Twins' Late Surge Fall Short Against the Tigers at Comerica Park?

First Inning


The game began quietly for both teams as neither managed to score in the opening inning. The Twins recorded one hit but failed to capitalize on it. Meanwhile, Detroit also struggled to make an impact early on.


Second Inning


In the second inning, Detroit took an early lead by scoring their first run thanks to two hits. Minnesota's bats remained silent during this period as they were unable to register any hits or runs.

Third Inning


Minnesota found some momentum in the third inning when they scored two runs off two hits. This brief surge was led by Byron Buxton's impressive performance at bat throughout his four appearances where he maintained a .750 average and contributed significantly to his team's offense.


Fourth Inning


Detroit responded strongly in their half of the fourth inning by adding three more runs from two hits which included another home run that extended their lead over Minnesota who couldn't add any further scores despite getting one hit during this frame.

Fifth and Sixth Innings


As play continued into these middle innings without much change for either side; however it was notable how well Joey Wentz pitched under pressure – maintaining control even though he allowed four walks across multiple innings pitched (ERA:16). Meanwhile Carlos Correa showed consistency defensively maintaining perfect fielding percentage (.1000).


Seventh and Eighth Innings


The seventh saw little action until late when both teams added single tallies each before entering what would become pivotal eighth frame where once again Byron Buxton shone brightly helping secure another pair bringing total up five overall yet still trailing behind hosts' tally now standing eight after adding theirs earlier too!


Ninth Inning
