The Yankees entered the game with an even split of twelve wins and losses. Their performance on the field was marked by six hits and one error, while they managed to cross home plate four times. Despite a valiant effort in the seventh inning where they scored two runs and added another in the ninth, it wasn't enough to overcome their opponents.

New York's hitters faced challenges throughout the game, ending with a batting average of .188. They were able to draw two walks but left twelve runners on base, which proved costly. The team's slugging percentage stood at .281 for this outing, with three extra-base hits contributing to that figure.

On defense, New York executed one double play and made twenty-eight total catches but also committed an error that did not go unnoticed. Their fielding percentage was recorded at .964 for this matchup.

The bullpen pitched four innings with an earned run average (ERA) of 4.5 and struck out four batters while allowing three walks and three hits. Overall pitching statistics included nine strikeouts over eight innings pitched but also seven walks given up by Yankee pitchers.

Toronto Blue Jays capitalized on eight hits without committing any errors throughout the game. They had five runs scored against them but managed to secure victory thanks to timely hitting that brought in two runs during both third and sixth innings.

Yusei Kikuchi from Toronto claimed his first win of the season while Carlos Rodón from New York was handed his first loss despite striking out five batters over four innings pitched. Jordan Romano secured his first save for Toronto closing out any hopes for a late Yankees comeback.

Fans can look forward to more action as New York Yankees will once again face off against Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre on April 17th at 7:07 PM local time (Eastern Time Zone).
