The Yankees set the tone early, scoring one run in the first inning followed by two more in the second. Their offense exploded for four runs in the fifth inning and continued to apply pressure with two runs in both the seventh and eighth innings before capping off their performance with another two runs in the ninth. Overall, they amassed 14 hits throughout the game.


Juan Soto led from the front for New York, boasting an impressive batting average of .600 along with three RBIs. Anthony Volpe also made significant contributions with a .500 average and an OPS of 1.75, including hitting a home run every four at-bats he had. Aaron Judge was another key player for New York; his batting average stood at .400 complemented by an OPS of 2.0.

On defense, Gleyber Torres had a fielding percentage of .875 despite committing one error that did not significantly impact their solid defensive display as a team which maintained an overall fielding percentage of .974.


Pitching was another area where New York excelled; Luis Gil started on the mound contributing to five strikeouts over his pitching duration while maintaining an ERA of 5.063 and WHIP of 1.5 across nine innings pitched by Yankee pitchers collectively.

The Phillies managed eight hits but were only able to convert these into four runs due to timely pitching changes and strategic plays from New York's bullpen that held them back effectively throughout most innings except for minor slip-ups allowing single-run scores during third through seventh innings.
