The Rockies seized control early on, marking scores in each of the opening three innings and notably surging ahead with a four-run rally in the third inning. Their offensive play was relentless, amassing an impressive total of 13 hits and taking full advantage of two mishaps by the Yankees. In stark contrast, the Yankees found it challenging to ignite their offense, mustering a mere five hits and managing only two runs throughout all nine innings.

On pitching duties for the Yankees was William Warren who encountered early setbacks. His stint resulted in an earned run average (ERA) that ballooned to 15.00 after he conceded six earned runs over just three innings pitched. However, Tommy Kahnle emerged from the bullpen with commendable performance metrics including an outstanding strikeout rate of 18 per nine innings pitched while keeping his earned runs tally at zero during his time on mound.

At bat for the Yankees, Alex Verdugo made notable contributions hitting .333 and contributing one run batted in (RBI), alongside showcasing his power with a slugging percentage peaking at 1.333 over three attempts at bat. Jazz Chisholm also left his mark with an exemplary batting average of .500 and matching on-base percentage (.500) across four attempts at bat.

Despite these valiant individual performances from its players, it wasn't sufficient for The New York Yankees to counteract The Colorado Rockies' formidable batting lineup which excelled in placing runners on base and timely driving them home.
