In a closely contested matchup, the New York Yankees faced off against the Baltimore Orioles, concluding with the Orioles edging out a 9-7 victory. Yankees' Offensive Highlights

The Yankees showcased resilience and power throughout the game, particularly in their last stand during the ninth inning where they scored four runs. Juan Soto and Aaron Judge were standout performers for New York. Soto's batting average soared as he hit .500 including a home run that contributed significantly to his three RBIs, alongside an on-base percentage of .600 and an OPS of 1.85. Similarly, Judge matched Soto's batting average and OBP while also slugging his way to an OPS of 1.85 thanks to his powerful hitting that included a home run.

Anthony Rizzo also made notable contributions with a batting average of .667 and an OBP of .750, although he didn't contribute any RBIs this time around. Despite these strong performances at bat, it was not enough to secure victory over Baltimore.

Pitching Struggles

On the pitching side, Marcus Stroman faced challenges as he ended up with an ERA of 16.2 after allowing six earned runs over just 3.1 innings pitched which set back New York early in the game. The bullpen had mixed results; Mark Leiter Jr., however, stood out by maintaining a perfect ERA of 0.0 across his appearance but couldn't stem Baltimore's offensive tide alone.

The Orioles capitalized on their opportunities throughout but especially during a fourth inning surge where they scored four runs off five hits which proved pivotal in establishing their lead.
