In their last outing at home against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Hawks fell just short in a high-scoring affair, 125-119. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways; notably, their offensive efficiency was impressive with an effective field goal percentage of 54 percent and they shot 80 percent from the free-throw line. They also demonstrated strong playmaking abilities with 28 assists but struggled on defense as evidenced by allowing 125 points.

The previous away game against Miami Heat showed similar trends – potent offense but defensive vulnerabilities. The Hawks scored 113 points while shooting nearly 44 percent from the field and maintaining a solid three-point percentage at around 35 percent. However, they conceded 122 points due to defensive lapses that resulted in a negative nine plus-minus.

However, it's not all gloomy for Atlanta; before these two losses came an impressive win over Houston Rockets where they put up an astounding 134 points with remarkable shooting accuracy – over half of their field goals found the net and they hit three-pointers at an efficient rate of approximately 43 percent.

The key for Atlanta will be finding consistency on both ends of the floor. While offense has been reliable thanks to dynamic ball movement and scoring depth from both starters and bench players alike, tightening up defensively could make all the difference against a formidable Dallas squad.

Fans can expect State Farm Arena to play its part in lifting spirits as well; historically known for its raucous atmosphere which often serves as a sixth man for the home team. With strategic adjustments and continued offensive firepower coupled with improved defense, there's every reason for optimism among Hawk faithfuls.

Mark your calendars: The action unfolds on January 27th at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Fans can catch live coverage on NBA TV (channel 216), BSSE (channel649), or BSSW (channel676) depending on your location.
