Hawks Soar Past Suns in High-Scoring Affair at State Farm Arena

The Atlanta Hawks, with a record of 22-27, emerged victorious against the Phoenix Suns, who came into the game with a 29-21 record. The final score read 129-120 in favor of the home team.

In an electrifying display at State Farm Arena, the Atlanta Hawks showcased their offensive capabilities by putting up an impressive total of 129 points against the visiting Phoenix Suns. The Hawks' bench made a significant impact by contributing 46 points to their total score. This collective effort was pivotal as they led for over half an hour during the game and established their largest lead at 11 points.


The Hawks were efficient from beyond the arc, sinking 17 out of their 44 three-point attempts which translated to a solid three-point shooting percentage of around 39 percent. Their scoring was also bolstered by successful drives to the paint where they scored 58 points. On defense, they managed to block four shots and steal possession seven times from their opponents.


Atlanta's ability to draw fouls proved advantageous as they went on to make approximately 78 percent of their free throws. They also capitalized on turnovers, scoring an impressive total of 21 points off them. Additionally, Atlanta's rebounding was strong; they outrebounded Phoenix with a total count of around fifty-two boards including twelve offensive rebounds that led to thirteen second-chance points.


On the other side, despite being outscored overall, Phoenix had moments where they shined through individual performances and teamwork that resulted in thirty-one assists throughout the game. They were particularly effective inside with around sixty paint points and showed precision from two-point range making about sixty-five percent of those shots.
