Hawks Set to Soar or Stumble at Madison Square Garden Against Knicks

The Hawks have shown a mix of resilience and vulnerability in their past few games, which could play a significant role in this upcoming clash.

In their last game against the Toronto Raptors, the Hawks narrowly missed victory with a final score of 121-123. Despite losing, they demonstrated an impressive ability to rebound with a total of 66 rebounds and maintained a strong presence in the paint scoring 58 points. Their bench also contributed significantly with 51 points. However, turnovers and defensive lapses allowed for too many opponent possessions, ultimately costing them the game.

Previously against Charlotte Hornets, Atlanta's performance dipped as they lost by a margin of 23 points (99-122). The team struggled from beyond the arc hitting only 24 percent from three-point range and had difficulty containing fast breaks which led to conceding 21 fast break points.

However, there was an upside when they hosted Chicago Bulls where despite losing (126-136), Atlanta showcased offensive prowess by scoring consistently across all quarters and achieving an effective field goal percentage of 54 percent. They also excelled in creating second-chance opportunities with half of their second chance shots finding success.

The key for Atlanta will be maintaining offensive efficiency while tightening up defensively especially on fast breaks and controlling turnovers. With New York's home-court advantage at Madison Square Garden known for its electrifying atmosphere that can both inspire and intimidate visiting teams, it will be crucial for Hawks players to stay focused under pressure.

Fans can catch this exciting matchup scheduled on March 5th at 7:30 PM Eastern Time broadcasted on MSG Network as well as BSSE Network.
